A neighbourhood grocer, in three languages.

The challenge

Give a local grocer an online shop that sounds like the shop.

AL-RAI's brand is fresh, neighbourly and honest. The site had to carry that voice in Basque first, with Spanish and English in full parity, and run orders from checkout to delivery.

Basque as the default language, with Spanish and English at parity
Pickup and local delivery with delivery slots and capacity
Stripe payments with wallets and saved cards, plus cash and Bizum
Admin tools for orders, picklists, inventory and refunds
Spanish IVA handled, with TicketBAI e-invoicing in progress

The solution

One Next.js codebase for shop, admin and delivery.

Storefront, admin dashboard and delivery logistics share one app on Drizzle and Supabase Postgres, with next-intl carrying every string through three languages. The work shipped in waves.

Next.js 16, React 19 and TypeScript strict
Drizzle ORM on Supabase Postgres, Better-Auth for sign in
next-intl 4 with Basque, Spanish and English route groups
Stripe, Cloudflare Turnstile bot protection, Umami and Speed Insights
Jest with PGlite and Playwright, CI split into four shards on real Postgres
Deployed on Vercel
